Trend Micro OfficeScan 10 Earns 'Recommend' Rating in NSS Labs' 'Live-in-the-Cloud' Socially-Engineered Malware Test
Trend Micro has earned a "Recommend" rating for its over-time protection rating and unique malicious site blocking score in the Q2 2010 NSS Labs Endpoint Protection Products Group Test Report covering socially-engineered malware. While the average security vendor took days to block a malicious website, Trend Micro had the fastest time, taking only a matter of hours. Not sponsored or funded by any security vendor, the NSS Labs test emulated the experiences of average users and focused on threats active on the Internet gathered from the company's extensive intelligence network.

Trend Micro Becomes the First Internet Security Company to Partner with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to Remove Child Pornography from the Internet
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) today announced that Trend Micro has joined the organization's Uniform Resource Locator (URL) Project which works to reduce child pornography on the Internet. Since 2007 NCMEC has collaborated with members of the Internet industry in an effort to reduce the availability of child pornography on the Internet. The URL Project currently involves 67 U.S. based electronic service providers (ESP's) which represent 74% of the United States ESP market share and 6 international law enforcement agencies. Trend Micro is the first security software company to partner with NCMEC on this initiative.

The malicious use of search engine optimization (SEO) techniques dominated Asia’s web attacks in Q1 2010, according to data collected by Trend Micro TrendLabs from January to March. In APAC, malware continued to arrive in systems primarily via Internet download, dropped by other malware, or via removable drives.
